Mesmer

Mesmer is an audio device that sculpts ambient noise to bring immersion and delight in the everyday.

In a world where technology brings distraction, stress and instability to our work, can it instead reconnect us with our surroundings? Helping to enhance our creativity, focus and stamina during working hours.

This project investigates the use of a microphone array and real-time audio processing to re-connect the user with their environment through the transformation of harsh noise around them into a harmonious, musical, intriguing soundscape. Filtering dissonance and looping of rhythmic sounds are two of the initial functionalities, with source recognition and separation also in development.
